5 Tips To Keep Your Jewelry Sparkling

Updated: Jul 31, 2020

Everybody loves jewelry. It's an accessory that one cannot simply do without. However, the jewelry losses its shine over the period of time, and people are hard-pressed to keep it clean and sparkling. You can of course take the help of a professional jewelry cleaner, but these can be pretty expensive.

There are numerous ways and means through which you can keep your jewelry in ship-shape throughout the year. What’s more, you can employ these methods from the comfort of your home. They are easy to do and easy to learn. Here are a few tips on keeping your jewelry clean and sparkling throughout the year:

1. Baking Soda And Dish Detergent

You probably already have everything you need in your kitchen to keep your favorite rings shining bright like a diamond. Simply pick out some baking soda, dish detergent, salt, and aluminum foil wrapped bowl. Add some baking soda, salt, and dish detergent in the bowl and fill it up with some hot water. Put your jewelry in the bowl and let it rest for 10 minutes. Find your old toothbrush, and give it a little srub...and it will be shiny

2. Vinegar for your Gold

Gold (or gold-tone) jewelry is trending right now, whether we are talking minimalist bar necklaces or extravagant gold hoops. Cleaning gold is as simple as walking up to your kitchen. Good old white vinegar is an easy way to make gold shine. Let your gold jewelry sit in white vinegar for up to 15 minutes, making sure to move it around every now and then. Then use a soft toothbrush to clean and rinse the jewelry. It’s as easy as that!

3. Antacids

No, really. Antacids are wonderful at cleaning away built-up debris from your favorite jewelry. Just put a tablet in a bowl of warm water and then drop in your jewelry. Let it sit, then remove and rinse with gentle scrubbing from a soft toothbrush.

4.Ketchup

Your favorite bottle of ketchup can keep your jewelry sparkling and shining, thanks to the acidic tomatoes used in ketchup. This is a good option for silver jewelry that has become tarnished over time. Just let the item sit in the condiment for 5-10 minutes, then gently scrub and rinse.

5.Glass Cleaner

You know the blue stuff you use to make your mirrors gleam?

Just reach for that same bottle when you want your jewelry to be as sparkly as a freshly cleaned mirror. You can use Windex on its own, or make a concoction with one part glass cleaner and one part hydrogen peroxide. The result will make your jewels shine — including your diamonds.

There you have quick and easy at-home tricks to clean your Jewelry.
