Creative ways of tying your hair without a hair tie

Nikola Valenti: Lifestyle blog

We’ve all been there: You get an immediate surge to throw your hair up, but you can’t find an elastic band anywhere. we have got solutions for you!!

The Summer Braid

Braids and buns define summer. Start by dividing the hair into three sections with the correct proportion without separating the hair at the bottom. Braid the three sections of hair but without pulling the strands through. At first, you’ll think you’re getting a knotted mess at the end, but it’s actually turning into a braid —except it’s upside down.

To finish it off, simply loop the bottom half through the middle of the braid and pull. It will hold until you choose to take it out—and it looks just as summery and adorable as any braided style.

Chopsticks or Pens

Bring the chopsticks back! We all remember seeing these hairstyles back in the early 2000s. Just tie your hair up in a messy bun and secure it with a pair of chopsticks. Or you could even opt for a pair of pens. It'll give you that effortlessly trendy look.

A Ribbon Or A Scarf

Well, there are a number of things other than hair ties that you can use to tie up your hair. You could opt for a ribbon, a scarf, a choker, a string, or even a shoelace. As long as it does the trick, it doesn't matter what you use. Try it for yourself and see the results.

Double Knot

Part your hair in the center or on one side; whatever suits you best. Then take two strands of your hair and tie it into a knot at the back of your head. Or if you want to try something quirky, you could also tie it into a knot at the top of your head. Trust us, you'll end up looking super cute.

Simple Twist

Busy, hectic days mean we often leave something at home and most of the time it will be something pretty basic, like let's say a hair tie. Rummaging through your bag you see not a spare in sight just when you need it. Fret not this simple twist is easy to do and will stay put for a while. All you have to do is twist your hair into a coil and pull it in itself to form a knot at the nape of your neck.
